Google Maps Envelope

with 3 comments

I love this idea 🙂

Designers Rahul Mahtani & Yofred Moik from the Industrial Design program at Syracuse University came up with this concept called Google Envelopes. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to map the course of mail and how it can tell a story? They came up with Google Envelopes, which can be sent through Gmail itself. It’s only a concept, but totally viable and something people can immediately understand. (

  1. Great concept, but not really feasible for many, many addresses/paths. It’s cool how they chose an address on the west and an address on the east so that one could be the return address and one could be the mailing address. However, what about mail traveling east to west? North to south? South to north? Etc. I really like the idea, however.

  2. Indeed! I really praise this idea, although I guess we can only well organize the sender and receiver’s addresses when Google Map has the rotation functionality.
